Daugherty said in Pullman that she couldn't comment. McCormack is the second player from the six-member recruiting class of 2007 to leave. Christian jam grew into behemoth
Winter Jam started with a pretty humble goal: The guys in the Christian band NewSong wanted to find a way to get fans to fight through the cold and come to winter concerts. So, they teamed up with another headlining Christian act and hit the road in January 1994. It went so well they did it again, and again, and kept adding more acts. Winter Jam 2008 comes to the World Arena on Sunday night, and the 15th version has grown into a monster. Seven bands will take the stage for whirlwind sets, led by Christian megastars MercyMe (who hit mainstream success with "I Can Only Imagine"). Young Christian stars join them, with the pyrotechnic-fueled rock of Skillet and the sister act BarlowGirl. And new voices get a showcase, such as "American Idol" finalist Mandisa. There are even BMX riders and skaters.
Newcomer's charm fuels 'Bartlett'
Here's a name to remember: Anton Yelchin. OK, no one said it would be easy to remember. But make a mark of it: This kid's going to be around for a long time. He's got charisma, cool and cocky likability to spare. In fact, it seems somehow fitting to find him on the verge of breaking out with "Charlie Bartlett," a movie that co-stars Robert Downey Jr., about whom the exact same things could have been said 20 years ago. .
Arcadia zooms onto the Net
Arcadia Group, which owns several UK retail chains including Top Shop, Burtons and Dorothy Perkins, is to launch an ecommerce portal and Internet service provider (ISP). The service, called Zoom, will offer news from Associated Newspapers, online dating and a job search facility. It will also include a loyalty card and a credit card. Zoom MD, Eva Pascoe, said: "We are an online shopping centre and a portal, too. Apart from Arcadia brands, we are signing up other partners such as Red or Dead." Pascoe added that she chose Easynet to provide ISP services because it has a good presence in France and Germany - the next two countries to be targeted by Zoom. Zoom will also offer some product lines not available anywhere else - first of which will be a special range of Wonderbras.

The Last Word: Sean Paul Causes a Seizure, Akon Plays R. Kelly, and ...
What's cookin' everyone. The weekend is upon us and the news keeps coming. This week proved to be another lively one with Roy Jones getting the W over Felix Trinidad, Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama taking shots at each other as South Carolinians prepare to vote in the Democratic primary, Fred Thompson deading his chances of becoming president by dropping out of the race for the Republican party nomination and a study that counted 935 false statements made by President Bush and top administration officials to justify going to war with Iraq two years after the 2001 terrorists attacks. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of actor Heath Ledger, who was found dead Tuesday (Jan. 22) of what many think to be an apparent suicide or accidental drug overdose. Shout out to the sounding boards for staying hot with the feedback, despite all the cold weather sweeping the country.
Hopewell Borough, history nearby
Blink and you might bypass the three-quarter-square-mile Borough of Hopewell. The Mercer County, N.J., hamlet usually is overshadowed by its more fashionable neighbors, Princeton and Lambertville. This classic Norman Rockwell-meets-Mayberry community is rich in culture, history, antiquing, galleries and fine dining. Most of Hopewell Borough (not to be confused with Hopewell Township) is a designated historic district. .
Sangean's HD radio has good looks, sound
While the digital stations certainly offer static-free reception, that's only if they're within range; a distant HD station will drop in and out if it's too far away. Even more disturbing is that some nearby HD stations seem to blink out randomly--the cell-phone-like signal meter drops a full six bars to zero and then shoots back up again a few seconds later, even when the radio is completely stationary. To reiterate, none of these problems are the fault of Sangean HDR-1. The same issues exist on the Polk I-Sonic and Cambridge 820HD, and will continue to exist for any and all HD Radio receivers until the stations decide to offer more bandwidth and better data support. If none of that scares you off, the question becomes: is the Sangean HDR-1 worth buying? At $200, it more or less matches the price of other namebrand HD Radio tabletops, including the Boston Acoustics Recepter HD, Cambridge SoundWorks 820HD, and Sony XDR-S3HD.
Salmond snared in donor row
On the same date he also spoke to the responsible minister, Michael Russell, to ensure there could be no possible suggestion from any quarter that Scottish government agencies were responsible for any delay which resulted in a planning authority being unable to properly consider an important proposed development." Russell said: "What I would say about the Aviemore planning application is, I speak to Sepa on a whole range of issues to do with how they exercise their regulatory functions." A spokesman for Donald Macdonald said: "I am not aware of Alex Salmond, Mike Russell or anyone else interfering in that process." Labour MSP Andy Kerr said: "The allegation that Alex Salmond has personally intervened in a planning application by a substantial SNP donor is very serious.
Enforcers set sail for Leith
Hotel staff woke guests at 7am as they saw the Enforcers moving in with cones to mark streets in Leith Links out of bounds. And residents found their cars towed away unless they were lucky enough to reach them in time. Those that did were told to find a parking space on the busy back streets behind their homes or pay £6 a day to leave their vehicles in a temporary car park on the Links. The council insisted the move was necessary to stop traffic in the area becoming gridlocked as tens of thousands of visitors come to the festival, which is being held on Western Harbour in Leith until Monday. The event, which includes displays by historic Tall Ships and the Royal Navy, as well as street theatre, live music and heritage exhibits, is expected to attract 125,000 visitors and generate £10 million for the local economy.
AOL Personals – Zogby Poll Probes American Views on Love and ...
Dulles, Va. and Utica, New York. More than 4 in 10 Americans (44%), including 50% in their 20s dont believe that they need to be married to validate the commitment of a long-term relationship, according to a survey from AOL Personals (http://personals.aol.com) and Zogby*. This is just one of the many findings from a new interactive survey of Americans age 20 to 69 that tackles how different generations view a wide range of relationship issues from love to soul mates, money and trust. While many dont believe marriage is the ultimate symbol of commitment, there are significant differences among older and younger adults regarding how they view dating while nearly half of Americans said they would date someone who is not interested in a long-term relationship, older adults tend to be more open to dating without fixating on how long a relationship might last.
'View' Panel Discusses Naming a Teddy Bear Jesus

And we were talking about whether she was going to- JOY BEHAR: In the Sudan. SHEPHERD: In the Sudan and whether she should get the lashes or not- BEHAR: Which is a Muslim country. And you- GOLDBERG: Only in a public school.
After 120 years in business, Cavanaugh's faces the end of the line
Its almost a tragedy, said Tom Marino, 51, as he looked around the Cavanaugh Ace Hardware store Thursday morning as shoppers searched the aisles for bargains. The Cavanaughs have been part of this community for so long. Marino, an Auburn Regional Valley Authority fire captain who grew up in Auburn, said he used to come into the store as a teenager. Im in mourning, he said.Owners Pat and Jan Cavanaugh who live on Lake Tapps will remain a part of the greater Auburn community but the store that has been a fixture in downtown Auburn since 1896 is going out of business, the victim of a failed downtown redevelopment project. They closed the store Saturday to hang the Going out of Business Sale signs in the windows. The final sale which will continue until everything is sold.Pat Cavanaugh, 63, is the fourth generation to run the store that his great grandfather Sam Cavanaugh first opened in 1887 in Kent which was then called Titusville before moving to Auburn.
